Delay — a period by which something is late or postponed. It is one of the most important performance indicators of any transportation system.

Flight delay is nothing but the difference between the scheduled and actual time of departure or arrival of flight on a day.

It is one of the most common but unpleasant experience that passenger or airline has to deal with. Because

  • It becomes a crucial factor in understanding the flight’s performance.
  • It Involves some cost both for the airline and the passenger in numerous ways
  • The airline’s reputation is at stake. As it depicts the poor performance of the airline or airport.
  • The airline needs to find re-accommodation for passengers.

This study presents the analysis-driven from flight delay data (https://www.kaggle.com/usdot/flight-delays) for the United States during the year 2015. This analysis visualizes the variety of factors associated with flight delays for a different carrier.
